Strange Creature

When I was on a nature walk with my family, I noticed this creature in the lake. I decided to take a closer look, and couldn't think of what it would be. It looked like a mix between a snail and a crab. I still like to think that it's sleeping with one eye open, ready to strike potential predators.

Minimal editing was done to this image, other than enhancing colours using Photoshop's RAW Image Filter.
